Jordan Travis shares devastating reaction to FSU’s ranking: ‘I wish my leg broke earlier in the season’

Jordan Travis shared his reaction to the “devastating” news of Florida State being left out of the College Football Playoff on Sunday.
Travis, who suffered a season-ending leg injury in Week 12, said he’s in “disbelief” after Florida State became the first-ever undefeated Power 5 champion to be left out of the CFP.
Travis said he wishes his “leg broke earlier in the season” so the committee could have seen “this team is much more than the quarterback.”

Tate Rodemaker and Brock Glenn started the last two games for Florida State. Rodemaker missed FSU’s ACC title game win over Louisville due to a concussion, leaving Glenn to make his first-ever start.
Boo Corrigan, who serves as the selection committee chair, confirmed that Travis’ injury was a significant reason why FSU was left out in favor of Alabama.
“We had 8 really good teams this year. Somewhat of a unique year,” Corrigan said. “Looking at the player availability was really important to what was going on. I think someone said you can lose a RB, you could lose a WR, but a QB as dynamic as Jordan Travis, it changes their offense in its entirety, and that was a really big factor as the committee went through everything.”
