Josh Dobbs receives warm welcome in Vikings locker room after epic game-winning drive

Josh Dobbs did the improbable Sunday afternoon for the Minnesota Vikings.
The former Tennessee QB was in Arizona this time last week. He was traded to Minnesota on Tuesday and on Sunday he led the game-winning drive to extend Minnesota’s win streak to 4. The Vikings downed Atlanta, 31-28.
Dobbs had a pair of magical plays in that final drive. Facing 4th and 7, Dobbs turned a surefire loss into a huge scamper for the first down and more deep into Falcons territory.
A few plays later, Dobbs found Brandon Powell in the end zone for 6. Check out the game-winner below:

Let’s reiterate this: Dobbs has not taken reps with the Vikings in practice. He’s been in Minneapolis less than a week. He was originally listed as the backup on Sunday for a reason, folks.
Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell said postgame that he was essentially translating plays on the final drive and that Dobbs’ ability to delve through that information and still come out on top is “one of the most impressive things he’s seen” in his career.
It’s almost like Dobbs is a rocket scientist or something!
Unbelievable. Josh Dobbs said that Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell was essentially translating calls and mapping out plays mid-huddle, as the play clock was ticking down. KOC called Dobbs’ ability to handle it all one of the most impressive things he’d seen in his career.

Following the game, O’Connell gave a speech to his players regarding Dobbs. As he was telling the team to go crazy for Dobbs once he arrived in the locker room, Dobbs strolled in the door.
The ensuing reaction was incredible:
#Vikings QB Josh Dobbs was still trying to make it back to the locker room when HC Kevin O’Connell was making his speech.
“When he walks in here, let’s make sure we let him hear it.”
… And then he ran in and the team went crazy. This is awesome. pic.twitter.com/mncmggTJNf

Sports are undefeated. Dobbs may be with the Vikings for a while after that one.
