Josh Heupel was wary of the whole of the Missouri receiving corps as well as Luther Burden during Monday’s presser.
After a good win over UConn, Tennessee must now face a Missouri team that went toe to toe with Georgia. The Tigers lost 30-21, but shouldn’t be taken for granted.
Burden is a great talent, but Heupel noted that there are other receivers for Missouri who can make plays as well.
It sounds like Heupel is preparing for the whole receiving corps, not just Burden.
“They create a lot of big chunk plays, designed shots down the football field. (Luther Burden is) a really good player and so when he gets the ball in his hands he’s difficult to bring down,” said Heupel. “They do a good job of moving him around too, where you have to track where he’s at… We’ve got to do a great job against him, but he’s not their only wide receiver. They’ve got a really good corps, a really good group of wide receivers.”
Stopping the aerial attack of Missouri will be a tough challenge for the Volunteers secondary especially now that Kamal Hadden is out for the year.
Kickoff from Faurot Field will be Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. No channel has been announced as of Monday.
