Josh Jacobs won’t be suiting up on Christmas Day.
In some rough holiday news for Las Vegas Raiders fans and Jacobs fantasy owners, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network reported hours before kickoff that the former Alabama running back has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
#Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (quad/illness) is out today against the #Chiefs, per source. The team held out hope but he just couldn’t make it.

Pelissero notes that Jacobs is dealing with both a quad issue and an illness. The quad injury kept Jacobs out of action in Week 15, when it was no Jacobs, no problem for the Raiders.
Without Jacobs, Las Vegas exploded for 63 points in the lopsided Thursday night win over the Los Angeles Chargers, leading to the Friday dismissal of Brandon Staley. Former Georgia standout Zamir White led the ground attack with 17 carries for 69 yards in the game.
Jacobs is in his fifth professional season. He has rushed 233 times for 805 yards and 6 touchdowns so far in 2023, while also catching 37 passes for 296 yards.
The Raiders and the Chiefs are set for 1 p.m. ET, with the game airing on CBS.
