JUCO defensive lineman Dantrell Barkley decommits from South Carolina

It’s been nothing but positive momentum lately for the South Carolina Gamecocks.
The team is 2-0 to start the season and if you combine Week 1 with Week 2, it probably has the best overall resume of any team in the SEC.
That’s why it seemed like somewhat strange timing on Friday when Will Muschamp’s team lost a decommitment.
South Carolina lost 2018 junior college defensive line commit Dantrell Barkley, who announced the move on his Twitter account.
First of all thank you to Gamecock nation I apprecite my time as a Gamecock but I am decommitting from USC and reopening my recruitment

Barkley had originally committed to the Gamecocks on June 9.
The Gamecocks still have two defensive linemen committed in the 2018 recruiting class — Jabari Ellis and Kingsley Enagbare — according to The Big Spur.
Interestingly enough, Barkley followed up his original tweet with this one:
