Justin Fields’ rocky debut has Bears fans pressing the panic button

Justin Fields was the 1st quarterback off the bench after Andy Dalton started the Chicago Bears’ preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins at Soldier Field. Dalton only played a pair of series, going 2-of-4 for 18 yards.
That meant it was time for the rookie quarterback to get his turn, and things didn’t get off to a good start as the Bears were whistled for 2 false starts on his first drive and eventually were forced to punt. He threw 3 straight incomplete passes on his next drive as Chicago went 3-and-out. Then, on the Bears’ next time with the ball, they’d go 3-and-out again behind a botched snap and a fumble. He also saw a potential interception by a Dolphins defender dropped.
Fields would recover to have a nice drive before the half, leading the Bears into field goal territory as they drew within 13-3 at the break. His stat line through 3 series was 7-of-12 for 52 yards.
Here’s the social reaction to Fields’ first action in an NFL uniform:
As a life long bears fan I am sick of Justin fields! Being in a real QB like Mitch Trubisky #SayNoToFields

Justin Fields just got stripped doing the same spin move he got injured doing in the SugarBowl. Maybe retire that move eh?
