Justin Fuente facing serious heat from Virginia Tech fans following 3rd straight home loss
By Keith Farner
Published:
Justin Fuente appears to be in trouble at Virginia Tech, and based on the response from Hokie fans, he won’t have a long-term outlook in Blacksburg.
Syracuse knocked off the Hokies 41-36 on Saturday, but it was more than that. Tech lost its third straight home game and fell to 3-4, but it also blew a 36-27 lead with 5:36 remaining against a team that had lost 10 straight ACC games. The Orange scored 14 points in the final 2:28 to snap their own three-game losing streak.
There was even a chant at the stadium, “Fire Fuente,” as the Hokies are on the brink of a third losing season in the past 4 years.
Here’s a sampling of some of the fan reaction:

How is Justin Fuente still employed this morning? Baffling and just sad. #Hokies

Wow another Sunday morning and Justin Fuente still has his job. Tragic.

The thing about Justin Fuente is it looked like a great hire on paper. It just didn’t work out…

The fire Fuente chant was real. Stadium was rioting. Great day to be inside lane stadium. Great day to be a hokie. So happy to waste a weekend on this sorry ass team once again
