In 2020, a former LSU wide receiver set a rookie record. In 2021, another former LSU wideout could break that record.
Justin Jefferson posted 1,400 receiving yards last year in his rookie season with the Minnesota Vikings, breaking Anquan Boldin’s record of 1,377 yards set in 2003. Jefferson’s former Tiger teammate Ja’Marr Chase is on pace to break that record with 754 receiving yards in his first 7 NFL games.

Jefferson told Courtney Cronin of ESPN that he’s all for Chase breaking the record.
Justin Jefferson is keeping an eye on Ja’Marr Chase’s season and the pace he’s on to break the records Jefferson set as a rookie “He’s been doing a great job. He’s killing it, especially having Joe, his college quarterback. I’m proud of him and of Joe and I hope he does break it”

Chase had the best game of his rookie season in Week 7 with 8 catches for 201 yards. He’ll look to add to his impressive rookie campaign in Week 8 against the New York Jets.
