Justin Jefferson gave Minnesota Vikings fans a scare after he was forced to leave their game against the San Francisco 49ers in the 3rd quarter after appearing to suffer a leg injury.
Jefferson had a hamstring injury in 2023, and that no doubt came to the forefront of the minds of fans after watching him go down on Sunday. After the game, though, he provided assurances that the injury wasn’t a serious one.
“Not overly concerned. Just a lil thigh bruise, contusion, whatever you want to call it. Something that happens a lot during football … Just gotta treat it up, get it feeling well, and get ready to go next week.”
Before leaving the game, Jefferson had totaled 4 catches for 133 yards and a touchdown, his score coming on a pass play of 97 yards.
The Vikings ultimately came away with the win as they held off the 49ers 23-17. They return the field in Week 3 as they host the Houston Texans at U.S. Bank Stadium, a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
