Junior defensive lineman Justin Madubuike is having a strong season, but could it be his last at Texas A&M?

It’s possible that Madubuike will decide to forego his senior season with the Aggies and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft, in which he would likely be selected in the early rounds. However, he’s not thinking about that decision right now.

When asked by the media about leaving for the NFL on Monday, Madubuike wanted to keep the focus on Texas A&M’s regular-season finale at LSU.

“When it comes to those things, all I’m focused on is LSU,” Madubuike told the media. “They’re the No. 1 team, they’re the third No. 1 team we’ve played this year. All this talk about the draft and all these things, I’m just focused on the LSU game and just finishing the season strong.

“People have been coming up to me, I’ve actually been trying to avoid it, honestly, and just focus on the season, because it’s not like you can erase people off your schedule, we have games to play.”

In 11 games this season, Madubuike has 40 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble and an interception. He’s played in 37 games over three years for Texas A&M, as he’s been making an impact for the Aggies since his freshman season in 2017.

Texas A&M and LSU are set to kick off on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN in what could be Madubuike’s final regular-season game with the Aggies.
