In Saturday’s loss to Florida State, the Alabama Crimson Tide saw several key players go down with injury. Kalen DeBoer gave a few updates when speaking with reporters on Monday.
One of those players was star wide receiver Ryan Williams. Williams left the game midway through the fourth quarter against Florida State after colliding with a pair of FSU defenders. Williams uncharacteristically dropped a pass from Ty Simpson, and then, after colliding with the FSU defenders, seemed to hit his head on the turf. Williams was able to leave the field on his own accord but did not return to the game.
DeBoer gave an update on Williams’ status, saying that he will go through concussion protocol and is day-to-day.
Another Alabama wide receiver went down with an injury in the first half. Isaiah Horton was seen in the injury tent and riding the stationary bike on the sidelines. DeBoer confirmed that Horton had a lower-body injury and was “limited.” However, he is expected to be full-go by the end of the week.
DeBoer also gave an update on defensive lineman and team captain Tim Kennan III, who suffered a high ankle sprain in practice. DeBoer confirmed Kennan III was out this week and is week-to-week.
Jam Miller, an Alabama running back, is recovering from a dislocated collarbone he suffered during Alabama’s second scrimmage. DeBoer updated that Miller is week-to-week and is “optimistic there in the short future.”
Alabama will play Louisiana-Monroe in Week 2.
