Kalen DeBoer and Alabama face a 23-14 halftime deficit at Vanderbilt. The No. 1 team in the country was a massive favorite to win this one, and so far, it hasn’t gone as planned for the Crimson Tide a week after an emotional victory against Georgia in Tuscaloosa.
Jalen Milroe is 6-of-10 for 99 yards, but threw a pick-6 in the 1st quarter that helped the Commodores take a 14-0 lead. He’s been credited with -5 yards on 3 carries as well.
After the interception, the Tide responded with a touchdown drive, and another one late in the second quarter, but Vandy has maintained a surprising lead at the break.
“We’ve had a couple nice [drives],” DeBoer said at halftime. “Obviously the turnover was really critical. They’re gonna shorten the game, and it’s gonna be limited possessions. But we get the ball to start the third quarter, so we can close up here a little bit.”
The Tide will look to turn the tables on the Commodores and keep their perfect season alive. Alabama-Vanderbilt is on the SEC Network.
