Kalen DeBoer and the Alabama Crimson Tide have one of the best receiving rooms in all of college football. Ryan Williams is one of the best players in the country, while Germie Bernard is off to a terrific start in 2025.
During Wednesday’s teleconference with the media, DeBoer did mention that wide receiver Aeryn Hampton was no longer on the team, and hadn’t been since early in fall camp.
“Bubba has not been with us for quite a while,” Kalen DeBoer said. “Going into early fall camp.”
Hampton was a 4-star recruit in the 2024 class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He was the No. 227 player in the class, including the No. 9 athlete.
He redshirted last season for the Crimson Tide, but did have one catch for six yards against Mercer. He also appeared in games against Wisconsin and Western Michigan.
While losing players in fall camp is never a good thing, the Crimson Tide have more than enough depth to handle it.
DeBoer picked up a much-needed victory last week, as Alabama fans were screaming for him to be potentially fired after the loss to Florida State in Week 1. The Crimson Tide have a game against Wisconsin this upcoming week, before a showdown in Athens against the Georgia Bulldogs on Sept. 27.
