Kansas City Chiefs waive former SEC QB, release ex-SEC tight end

The Kansas City Chiefs are putting their roster together for the 2021 season, as they try to make it to their third-straight Super Bowl.
On Monday, the Chiefs cut ties with a pair of former SEC athletes — ex-Ole Miss QB Jordan Ta’amu and ex-Mizzou TE Sean Culkin.
Ta’amu was waived, while Culkin was released, per reporter Sam McDowell:
The Chiefs waived quarterback Jordan Ta'amu and released OL Byran Witzmann and TE Sean Culkin, per the NFL transactions report.

Culkin played for the Los Angeles Chargers for the first 3 years of his career and spent the 2020 campaign with the Baltimore Ravens. He has 2 catches for 36 yards in his NFL career.
Ta’amu went undrafted in 2019 and has spent time with the Texans, Chiefs and Lions. He has yet to throw a pass in an NFL regular-season or playoff game.
