Karl Dorrell will not return as Vanderbilt’s offensive coordinator, sources told FootballScoop.com. Dorrell spent one season with the Commodores, joining Derek Mason’s staff in January. Mason was a cornerback and return specialist at Northern Arizona when Dorrell served as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Vanderbilt ranked No. 122 in total offense with an average of 288.8 yards per game. The Commodores also ranked No. 117 in scoring offense, No. 106 in passing offense and No. 112 in rushing offense.

Dorrell has 26 years of coaching experience at the college and professional level. He served as the quarterbacks coach from the Houston Texans before joining Vanderbilt’s staff. Dorrell also served as the head coach at UCLA from 2003-07, before joining the Miami Dolphins as a wide receivers coach in 2008.
