When it was revealed that Alabama’s Eddie Jackson broke his leg and would miss the rest of the 2016 season, the Crimson Tide began looking for players who could help fill the void.
One of those players is junior DB Tony Brown, who will need to take over one of the cornerback positions for normal CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, who has moved to safety in Jackson’s absence.
Brown hasn’t seen the field much this season, so keeping him focused ahead of Saturday’s showdown against LSU in Baton Rouge is a big priority for coach Nick Saban, according to 247Sports:
“Tony Brown has done a good job for us,” Nick Saban said. “He’s working hard. He’s a really good competitor. The challenge is to stay focused on the things that you need to do to do your job well. He’s done a pretty good job of that this week. I think he appreciates the opportunity that he has and wants to make the most of it. We’re doing everything we can to help him do that.”
Brown can earn more playing time if he has a good game against the Tigers on Saturday. The game kicks off at 7 p.m. Central time and can be seen on CBS.
