The Kelvin Joseph saga has been one of the more interesting stories this offseason at LSU as the sophomore cornerback from the Baton Rouge area unexpectedly entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal recently.

That isn’t the odd part of the story, as players entering the portal has become commonplace around the nation, but it wasn’t long before a report quoting Joseph’s father indicated the Baton Rouge native would remain at LSU. Joseph then went online and attacked the credibility of that story and indicated he did plan to leave the LSU program.

Now, according to Ed Orgeron, who Joseph did not speak with before originally entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal, claims the sophomore plans to remain with the program after meeting with his head coach.

Coach O is currently in Destin for the SEC spring meetings and when asked about Joseph’s status with the team, Orgeron offered up the latest on the situation.

“I had a talk with him,” Orgeron said Tuesday according to Scott Rabalais of The Advocate. “Everything was fine. As far as I know, everything is good.”

Joseph played in 11 games last season as a true freshman but missed LSU’s Fiesta Bowl appearance after being suspended for the game following a violation of time rules. Joseph made 12 tackles and defended a single pass in his debut season for the Tigers.
