Chad Morris and his Razorback staff continue to pull strings to build up the Arkansas roster in their image with the latest addition to the program coming from FCS program Southern University.

According to Craig Loper of WAFB 9 Sports in Baton Rouge, Southern’s leading receiver, Kendall Catalon, is headed to Fayetteville via transfer. Kendall is the older brother of Arkansas 2019 signee Jalen Catalon. The younger Catalon brother was a four-star safety prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle that picked the Razorbacks over Texas.

Kendall Catalon’s addition to the Arkansas program makes sense as Morris and his staff have ties to Mansfield Legacy High School in Texas, where the former Southern receiver played quarterback. During his prep career, Catalon passed for 3,801 yards and 64 touchdowns while adding 2,349 rushing yards and another 24 scores on the ground.

After transitioning to receiver in college, Catalon quickly developing into Southern’s leading target on offense. In two seasons, Catalon has caught 56 passes for 758 yards and seven touchdowns.

It’s unclear at this point if Catalon will be immediately available to play next season for the Razorbacks, as he will likely need to file a waiver to the NCAA and have it approved before being cleared to hit the field in the fall.
