Elite class of 2022 prospect Skyy Clark won’t be playing the rest of the high school basketball season.
A 5-star recruit on the 247Sports Composite, Clark announced the news in a note (below) posted to his Twitter account on Sunday. Clark cited coronavirus safety concerns in his note. Kentucky Sports Radio’s Tyler Thompson pointed out that Clark’s announcement was made as Tennessee indoor sporting event attendance restrictions are lifted starting Monday. Clark plays for The Ensworth School in Nashville.
Jason Marcum of A Sea of Blue writes that it is uncertain if this means “next stop Lexington” for Clark, who is a candidate to reclassify to the 2021 class, or if he’ll seek a more satisfying finish to his high school career and remain in the class of 2022.
Clark committed to Calipari’s program on Oct. 22, 2020. He is rated 5-stars, the No. 2 combo guard and No. 12 player overall nationally in the 2022 class on the Composite.
