Kentucky earns commitment from in-state TE prospect in class of 2024

Kentucky made a big addition to its 2024 recruiting class on Friday.

The Wildcats picked up a commitment from 3-star tight end Willie Rodriguez. The Kentucky native also had offers from programs such as Ole Miss, South Carolina and Pitt.

Here’s his announcement:

Rodriguez is a significant pickup for Kentucky. He’s the No. 62 tight end and the No. 10 player from the state of Kentucky in the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He attends Covington Catholic High School in Alexandria, Kentucky. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds.

Rodriguez is a recent offer for Kentucky as it came earlier this spring. He took an official visit to Lexington earlier this month and things moved quickly from there.

Kentucky now has 9 commits in the class of 2024. Rodriguez is the 4th in-state prospect to join the class. Overall, the group is at No. 48 in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
