Keion Brooks Jr. will apparently have plenty of options to play basketball in 2022. Brooks publicly declared for the NBA Draft earlier this month. Now, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz, Brooks has also entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

When Brooks announced on April 4 that he was entering his name into the NBA Draft, he added that he would be maintaining college eligibility by not hiring an agent. If Brooks does not go pro, he will have his college options open by already having his name in the transfer portal. Entering the portal does not bind Brooks to transfer from Kentucky, however, UK is no longer obligated to keep him on scholarship.

Brooks, a former 5-star recruit, has played 3 seasons for John Calipari’s squad. In 2021-22, Brooks made 33 starts, missing one game due to illness. He posted career bests of 357 points (10.8 per game), 145 rebounds,  33 assists, 21 blocks and 23 steals.
