Kentucky hoops unable to fully warm up ahead of Providence game due to rim issue

Kentucky basketball was unable to properly warm up ahead of the Wildcats’ Round of 64 bout against Providence Friday evening. Arena staff was forced to work on Kentucky’s rim, keeping the Wildcats off the floor for a chunk of warmups. The Wildcats were allowed to take the floor just 16 minutes before tip.
Before you conspiracy theorists take over, it’s important to note Iowa State had similar problems with the rim in warmups. They also were unable to get a full warmup in because of crooked rims. It’s worth noting that the Cyclones scored just 41 points against Pitt in their blowout loss.
Iowa State’s warm ups are being cut dramatically because of crooked rims here in Greensboro. We’ve got levels, ladders and all kinds of stuff going on. The Cyclones are kinda just standing around stretching cuz they can’t shoot.

Kentucky basketball is looking to put recent March results in the rearview mirror against the Providence Friars. The Wildcats, incredibly, have not won an NCAA Tournament game since 2019’s run to the Elite 8.
They’re favorites to change that Friday night.
