One of the top recruits from the state of Virginia could be taking his talents to Kentucky.
Four-star tight end Mathias Barnwell named the Wildcats in his top seven this weekend. UK is the only SEC program to join North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia and Virginia Tech in Barnwell’s top group.
Listed at 6-5, 240 pounds, Barnwell is rated 4-stars, the No. 4 Virginia product, No. 12 tight end and No. 184 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. Barnwell has picked up 25 scholarship offers so far during his recruitment.
