Kentucky has found its next offensive line coach. The program is hiring former South Carolina OL coach Eric Wolford to the same position:

Wolford succeeds the late John Schlarman, who died from cancer in November. Kentucky coach Mark Stoops is very familiar with Wolford and believes he’ll do an admirable job. Stoops coached with Wolford at Houston and Arizona.
“I’m honored to have Eric Wolford join our staff,” Stoops said via the Courier Journal. “I’ve known Eric and worked with Eric for a long time. I knew it would take a special person to fill this role and we found the best candidate. I know what we are getting with Eric Wolford and he will continue to build on the legacy that John Schlarman started. He’s intense, he’s detailed but he also has the unique ability to connect with people.”
Most recently, Wolford served as the offensive line coach at South Carolina (2017-2020). He was the head coach at Youngstown State from 2010 to 2014. Wolford was also an offensive line coach at Emporia State, South Florida, Houston, North Texas, Arizona and Illinois. Wolford was an assistant offensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers from 2015-2016.
Wolford is grateful for the opportunity at Kentucky.
“I’m blessed to have the opportunity to coach the ‘Big Blue Wall’. I want to continue the legacy of John Schlarman,” Wolford said via the Courier Journal. “He was a wonderful man and watching film and seeing how his line played, it’s not hard to see what a great offensive line coach he was. We are always going to remember Coach Schlarman in our room. Always.”
