Kentucky OL Gerald Mincey has Nov. 2 circled on his calendar. Mincey, a Tennessee transfer, did not shy from discussing the Wildcats’ trip to Rocky Top this fall.

In a Wednesday media opportunity, Mincey admitted that he can be a bit of a Twitter troll when it comes to dealing with criticism. Per Ryan Black of the Louisville Courier Journal, Mincey said he would never make a “burner” account to be anonymous on social media.

“That’s childish,” Mincey said, per Black. “If I’m gonna say something, I’m gonna use my main account. And obviously that’s what I’ve been doing. That’s a little fire to the fuel, man.”

Mincey added more “fire to the fuel” in the Tennessee-Kentucky football rivalry on Wednesday. While acknowledging he has a target on his back, Mincey didn’t shy from serving up some bulletin board material.

“I love the underdog (role),” Mincey said of the rivalry being lopsided in UT’s favor. “So when we go there Nov. 2 to Neyland and we bust them in the mouth, we can put the standard back over here.”

Mincey’s transfer for 2024 isn’t his first time switching sides in the SEC. He was a Kentucky commit who flipped to Florida. After two seasons with the Gators, he transferred to Tennessee ahead of the 2022 campaign.
