Kentucky is poised to have another strong college basketball season.

In fact, Andy Katz has the Wildcats ranked No. 1 in his preseason power rankings for NCAA.com, ahead of other traditional powerhouses such as Kansas, Gonzaga, Duke and North Carolina.

Katz believes that Kentucky will have one of its deepest teams since John Calipari has been its coach. The Wildcats have some top returning talent, a strong freshman class and Reid Travis, who has transferred from Stanford.

Last season, Kentucky went 26-11 and won the SEC Tournament. The Wildcats won two games in the NCAA Tournament before getting eliminated by Kansas State in the Sweet 16.

Kentucky will aim for more conference success and a deeper run into March this season.

Here are the SEC teams listed in Katz’s preseason top 25 power rankings:

#1 Kentucky

#7 Tennessee

#9 Auburn

#25 Mississippi State
