Kentucky sets school-record, leads nation with 13 selections in 2018 MLB Draft

Kentucky scored big in the latest Major League Baseball draft as 13 Wildcats were selected during the selection process.

That number represents not only a school record but the most selections of any program in the nation for the 2018 draft. Kentucky has seven picks on the final day of the draft.

According to Lex18.com, here’s a recap of every Wildcat selected:

  • OF Tristan Pompey (3rd, Miami)

  • RHP Zach Haake (6th, Kansas City)

  • 2B Luke Becker (9th, San Diego)
  • RHP Justin Lewis (12th, Arizona)
  • SS Trey Dawson (15th, Houston),
  • RHP Chris Machamer (16th, Boston)
  • C Troy Squires(23rd, Toronto)
  • OF Ben Aklinski (32nd, Philadelphia)
