Kentucky basketball had some equipment stolen on Tuesday night, according to a report.
Per Kentucky Radio’s Tom Leach, the Wildcats’ “shoe bag” was stolen off the team bus in Toronto. Kentucky is in Canada as it participates in the 2023 GLOBL JAM event against several international squads.
The bag contained game shoes for the entire team. However, per Leach, the team also had a “backup shoe bag” that was not stolen. Kentucky is using shoes from that bag on Wednesday as it faces off against Germany.
Tom Leach says on UK Radio that the Kentucky men's basketball team's "shoe bag" was stolen off the team bus overnight in Toronto. Leach says it was fortunate that the "backup shoe bag" was in somebody's hotel room. So that's why the Cats are not having to play barefoot today

It’s been a bit of an up-and-down week for Kentucky. The Wildcats scrimmaged against a team from Africa on Tuesday and lost big man Ugonna Onyenso to an ankle injury. Onyenso’s status for the rest of the week is now in question.
However, this week is an opportunity for several of Kentucky’s new players to get experience against high-level competition. Players such as Justin Edwards, Rob Dillingham and Tre Mitchell are making their Wildcat debuts this week.
Kentucky will be in action again on Thursday against a team from Canada.
