The Wildcats are on to the Semifinals of the 2018 SEC Tournament.

Just shortly after tipoff, there was little doubt of the outcome between Kentucky and Georgia in the quarterfinal round of the St. Louis tournament as the Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and sustained a Georgia rally before dominating the entire second half against the Bulldogs to win 62-49.

Three Wildcats registered double-digit points (Kevin Knox, PJ Washington and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander) in the game. Kentucky only had five turnovers in the game. The Cats also had 14 assists.

More impressive than any offensive production was the defensive effort Kentucky displayed in the game. Georgia’s Yante Maten, the AP Player of the Year in the SEC, scored only nine points in the game. That figure represents only the second time this season Maten failed to reach at least 10 points scored in a game.

Kentucky will face now face Alabama in Saturday’s semifinals. The game is scheduled to be played at 1 p.m. ET / Noon CT on ESPN.
