Kentucky wide receiver Ryan Timmons had successful surgery to remove a bone spur from his left ankle, UK media relations announced Tuesday. Timmons led the Wildcats with 536 yards and two touchdowns on 45 receptions.

Timmons tweeted about the surgery on Tuesday, but later took the tweet down. The team on firmed that the procedure was successful and that the sophomore should be fine.
Timmons has appeared in 23 games and has 874 career yards, four touchdowns and 77 catches. The former Franklin County standout rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 6 player from the state of Kentucky, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
