Kentucky’s defense held NCAA’s all-time leading 3-point shooter to historically bad day

Entering Saturday’s second-round NCAA Tournament game between Kentucky and Wofford, Terriers G Fletcher Magee had already broken the NCAA’s all-time three-point shooting record.
However, he couldn’t add to his record total against the Wildcats. Kentucky played stifling defense all game long, with Ashton Hagans, Tyler Herro and Jemari Baker holding Magee to an 0-for-12 performance from beyond the arc.
That, it turns out, is a historically bad three-point performance. Though Magee finished with eight points, but his 0-for-12 mark from three-point range was the worst ever recorded in the NCAA Tournament:
Wofford's Fletcher Magee has made the most 3-pointers all-time in Division I history, but he went 0-for-12 behind the arc in today's loss to Kentucky.

Hopefully, people remember Magee for the incredibly gifted shooter he was, and not for this off day against the Wildcats.
Big-time credit to Kentucky’s defensive game plan and execution, though, as it’s not easy to keep a shooter like that down.
