If Florida is going to make some noise in the 2020 SEC Tournament, the Gators are likely going to need Kerry Blackshear Jr. on the court.

Unfortunately, the senior was injured in Florida’s regular-season finale loss to Kentucky over the weekend. According to the Florida team website, Blackshear’s official status heading into the 2020 SEC Tournament will be listed as “questionable” and he will not practice before the Gators play the winner of Wednesday’s matchup between Georgia and Ole Miss.

The good news is Blackshear was tested after suffering his wrist injury against Kentucky and all tests came back negative.

The senior forward averaged 12.8 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Gators this season after transferring in from Virginia Tech as a graduate transfer. His availability for the 2020 SEC Tournament will likely come down to his pain tolerance.

“‘KJ’ is one of the toughest guys — maybe the toughest — on our team. He’s one of the toughest guys I’ve ever coached,” Mike White said of Blackshear following the Kentucky game. “He hasn’t missed a practice all year and has battled different things, including illness at times, and won’t take a rep off. When he walked over to the sideline a couple minutes into the second and said, ‘I can’t go,’ I knew it must’ve been really hurting him.”

Here’s a look at the official 2020 SEC Tournament bracket heading into the start of the action on Wednesday:
