As former Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson is evaluated as a potential NFL Draft pick, teams have a few questions. According to Josh Vitale of the Opelika-Auburn News, the biggest question mark surrounding Johnson is his durability.
Last year’s leading rusher in the SEC (1,391 yards) says one number – three – should put the question to rest.
“Bottom line is, I’ve been an SEC running back for three years and I’ve missed three games,” Johnson told Vitale following Friday’s Pro Day. “That’s bottom line. Not too many running backs can say that coming out of this league. So we talk about it, we diagnose it, and we move on. Teams are a lot more willing to listen and understand than people outside of football are.”
With the regular pounding that comes from playing against SEC defenses, only three missed games is fairly impressive.
Projections have Johnson as one of the top-five backs in the Draft and a potential second-day (Rounds Nos. 2 and 3) pick.
