Yeah, we’re not sure what happened either.
Kevin Sumlin’s Aggies blew a 44-10 lead against UCLA, and the Bruins’ 34-point comeback was one point shy of the largest comeback in NCAA history. UCLA ultimately won 45-44.
UCLA QB Josh Rosen threw for nearly 500 yards and four TDs, including the amazing game-winning TD.
Ultimately, the Aggies head home to try and regroup ahead of Nicholls State.
Kevin Sumlin met with the media following the loss:
Kevin Sumlin: You don't explain it. We're not making excuses for anything. We didn't get it done as coaches.

Sumlin: We've got some young guys. We need to put them in position. Rosen put some balls up late…we didn't come down with them.

Sumlin: Donovan Wilson and Nick Starkel will be evaluated tomorrow. That's all I can tell you. That changes things dramatically.

Sumlin: LaCamera also has to be evaluated. Something happened coming out of the half.

Sumlin on whether he thought about going to Hubenak: You bet. But we talked to both of them. He hadn't been in the game.
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 4, 2017
Sumlin: UCLA went to a max protection scheme. That helped and Caleb Wilson ate us alive. They utilized him in the middle of the field.
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 4, 2017
Sumlin: It was two different halves. We had guys get hurt but they made more plays in the middle of the field.
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 4, 2017
Sumlin: When Donovan Wilson was ruled out the rest of the night, we tried the fill that void [with young guys].
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 4, 2017
Sumlin: It's frustrating. I have to watch the tape. You have two choices. But tomorrow, the sun comes up. We have to go back to work.
— TexAgs (@TexAgs) September 4, 2017
Sumlin: You have to put this behind you. You have to make sure of what you're doing. It's our job to fix this as coaches. It's my job.
