Kevin Warren gave a wide-ranging interview to Bryant Gumbel for an episode of HBO’s Real Sports in which he outlined paying plays and further expansion of the Big Ten.
As the Big Ten commissioner explained, paying players is something that’s on the table along with conference expansion. The episode is set to air on Tuesday.
“Those (paying players) are things we have to resolve,” he said. “We have to. So I want to be part of this conversation & will be part of this conversation of what we can do to make this better.”
Asked if he could see 20 teams in the Big Ten, Warren said he could, and added, “I could see perpetual and future growth.”
It’s pretty obvious that in some way major conferences will eventually pay players, something Kevin Warren has mentioned before. Him actually revealing his league’s future membership number is interesting, though many have predicted that to be the end goal. https://t.co/Q7DMtMUYKV
