Auburn director of player development Stefan Schmidt is leaving the program, per AL.com’s Matt Zenitz.

Schmidt has been with the Auburn program since 2017. Prior to Auburn, Schmidt was the assistant director of player personnel at Texas. He started his career at Alabama as the Tide’s student assistant in the recruiting office. He then became a member of the Longhorns’ recruiting quality control staff under Mack Brown. Brown, of course, is now at North Carolina.

In addition to working at Auburn, Alabama and Texas, Schmidt has also worked at Miami and Wisconsin.

Schmidt’s recruiting experience has been beneficial to Auburn’s efforts the last several years.
