It’s been a scary week for the Florida men’s basketball program, as junior forward Keyontae Johnson collapsed during its game at Florida State last Saturday and was later hospitalized. Since then, he has shown encouraging process, according to numerous updates from the Gators.
Johnson had been in a medically-induced coma earlier this week, before moving to stable condition and speaking with his families and doctors. Now, Johnson is in condition to speak in a public format.
On Friday, Johnson shared an update on Twitter regarding the care and prayers he has received:

Although Johnson is recovering, the Gators haven’t returned to the court since the incident happened. They’ve postponed four games and aren’t scheduled to return to action until their SEC opener at Vanderbilt on Dec. 30.
Johnson is in his third season at Florida, and he’s averaged 16 points and 4.5 rebounds in four games to begin the 2020-21 season. While he was having some of his best showings on the court, the Gators are now concerned with him returning to health before thinking about his future on the basketball court.
