Khurtiss Perry was one of the state of Alabama’s top uncommitted recruits coming into Wednesday. But the defensive lineman out of Pike Road, Alabama, Perry announced he would commit and sign with Alabama.
Perry is a 6-foot-2 and 265-pound 4-star recruit, the No. 4 player in the state, and the No. 11 defensive lineman in this class, according to the 247Sports Composite. Though UCF, Clemson and Texas were in the mix, it appears the call came down to Alabama and Auburn.
Perry’s commitment appeared to come down to an Iron Bowl battle in the final days, though he did visit Clemson this past weekend, AL.com reported. After the rivalry game, which Perry attended, he told reporters that the Tigers were in the lead for his signature. He also mentioned that Ohio State had been pursuing his talents in the lead-up to his three-sack state title game.
In the end, Perry stuck with the school many had predicted he’d choose for months.
