South Carolina tight end Kiel Pollard announces retirement from football

Unfortunately, we have some bad news to share from Columbia.

Senior tight end Kiel Pollard announced his retirement from football on Friday after suffering a neck injury in practice.

Pollard had appeared in 38 games during his collegiate career in Columbia and even won the Unselfish Teammate Award for special teams las fall at South Carolina. He finishes his career with 17 receptions for 203 yards and two touchdowns.

The Gamecocks also honored Pollard with the Harold White GPA Award for Special Teams during the 2019 Garnet & Black Spring Game.
