Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are preparing for the 2022 season after winning a national championship in 2021.
However, as the Bulldogs get started with spring practices, they’ll do so without a pair of key tight ends.
We already knew last year’s breakout star, Brock Bowers, would be out after shoulder surgery. But, on Tuesday, Smart revealed that Darnell Washington would also miss the spring session with a lower leg issue:
Darnell Washington is out this spring with a lower leg injury, per Kirby Smart. Georgia already missing Brock Bowers after labrum surgery.

Washington battled injuries last year, too. He was only able to appear in 8 games, catching 10 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown.
We’ll see if he’s ready to go for fall camp, but his health is certainly something to monitor moving forward.
