The Georgia Bulldogs continued to impress this year with another strong victory.

The Bulldogs rolled into Jacksonville for their annual matchup with Florida and wasted no time in establishing their dominance. Georgia raced out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter behind multiple highlight-reel plays. The Bulldogs never let up and rolled to a 42-7 victory over the Gators.

Georgia remains undefeated with the strong showing, and head coach Kirby Smart will try to keep the team focused heading into a matchup with South Carolina.

The win over Florida was a big one, and Smart announced six Bulldogs received Player of the Week honors on Monday. He made the announcement on Twitter:

The big story for the Bulldogs offense was RB Sony Michel. Michel ripped off two long touchdown runs and finished the game with six carries for 137 yards and two scores. Isaiah Wynn contributed a steady presence along the offensive line and helped pave the way for a Bulldogs rushing attack that gained 292 yards on the ground.

The Georgia defense nearly pulled off the shutout until Florida scored a touchdown with just under three minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Still, it would be hard to ask for a better performance from the defense. LB Lorenzo Carter led the unit with nine tackles and added a sack and a tackle for loss. DB J.R. Reed finished tied for second on the team with eight tackles and added half a sack and a touchdown on a three-yard fumble recovery. Reed was also named a Co-Defensive Player of the Week in the SEC for his performance.

WR Riley Ridley and RB Elijah Holyfield served on a special teams unit that limited Florida’s return game all afternoon. The Gators finished with four total returns for 68 yards against the Bulldogs.

Georgia will go for 9-0 when the Bulldogs take on South Carolina this weekend. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 3:30 pm EST on CBS.
