The rivalry between Georgia and Florida is one of the best games the SEC has to offer.

The game, which takes place in Jacksonville, Florida, is one of the few neutral-site regular season games in college football, adding to fun of the rivalry. Georgia has controlled the last 2 meetings, but the game always seems to be up for grabs.

Ahead of the game, Kirby Smart broke down the message he gives his players about this special game.

“Welcome to the SEC,” Smart said in his press conference Monday. “Every game is going to be a rivalry game when you get into the SEC, they’re all tough games. This one’s unique because of where it’s played, and it’ll be a new experience for some of our guys, but you forget about that after the whistle blows and you kick it off and go out there and go play.”

Billy Napier had a similar message to his players, informing them of the history of the rivalry and what it means to the 2 schools.

“This is one of those games that you, as a competitor, look forward to being a part of,” Napier said. “Obviously ton of history and tradition here. I think we’ve worked hard to educate our players about the importance of the game, the history behind the game.”

And Napier knows that the game will be a tough one. The Bulldogs are looking to make it 3 championships in a row, and they won’t let a game against Florida get in their way.

“Certainly we have a ton of respect for Georgia relative to the caliber of football they’ve been playing, the personnel that they have, the coaching staff, and the brand of football in general,” Napier said. “Obviously been ranked No. 1 for a number of weeks in a row here, won several in a row. Ton of respect for Georgia. It’s going to require our best. I know our players are excited about getting to work today.”
