Kirby Smart discusses how former 5-star WR Demetris Robertson is progressing this spring

Last year, the Georgia Bulldogs thought they were getting a big boost when former 5-star WR Demetris Robertson, a Georgia native, transferred from Cal.
However, Robertson didn’t make much of an impact in his first year in Athens, catching zero passes and running only four times (though those carries went for 109 yards and a touchdown).
As he prepares for his second season in a Georgia uniform, Robertson is hoping to make a big impact. After Saturday’s scrimmage, coach Kirby Smart said he’s seen some improvement from Robertson in knowing the offense:
“I think he’s more comfortable with the offense. He’s played the F, which puts him in the slot. He plays outside, he understands our offense better and he’s also getting more opportunities. To be honest, there’s not three guys out there, really not even that when you add Jayson Stanley and Ahkil Crumpton, so he’s getting pushed to the forefront.”
Having Robertson live up to his enormous potential would be huge for the Bulldogs and QB Jake Fromm. It’s still early, but it seems Robertson will at least have a chance to be more productive this fall.
