Kirby Smart expects an ‘entertaining’ matchup against Ole Miss’ potent offense
Kirby Smart is ready for what could be a very exciting offensive matchup in Athens with Ole Miss.
The explosive Rebels offense finally meets the dominant Georgia defense on the football field on Saturday. Smart said that the Bulldogs offense ranks third in the SEC in explosive plays and Ole Miss is ahead of them at No. 2.
The Georgia head coach sees an exciting game for the fans. He expects Ole Miss to take shots down the field, go up-tempo, and not a lot of dull moments in the game.
“Well, it’s gonna be exciting. We keep up with stats on explosive plays by the offenses. I think our offense is third in the SEC, they are second. You think about both teams being explosive,” said Smart. “They’re gonna take shots down the field, there’s not gonna be many dull moments. They’re gonna go up-tempo, high speed and snap the ball a lot. I think it’s gonna be entertaining for the fans. It should be an exciting game.”
Two more ranked opponents await Georgia before the Georgia Tech game, including Ole Miss. The Bulldogs have to travel to Knoxville after Week 11. The Volunteers are ranked No. 13 and have won 2 games in a row since losing to Alabama.
For Ole Miss, the Rebels are still looking to keep their chances of a potential trip to Atlanta alive. First, they’ll have to get through the tough environment that is Sanford Stadium.
