Kirby Smart recently explained one of Georgia’s tactics when it comes to preparation, and it may come as a surprise to fans.
Smart has the Bulldogs off to an 8-0 start and No. 1 ranking on the Playoff Top 25. Georgia has allowed more than 14 points in just one SEC game to this point while scoring 30 or more points in all but one game.
The Bulldogs are in the midst of an incredibly special season and are aiming to reach the SEC Championship Game for the first time since 2012.
The current run by the Bulldogs has fans hoping that Smart doesn’t change a thing, but he used a unique way to describe one of his tactics. Jason Butt with The Telegraph shared Smart’s comments:
“We’re all in the plagiarism business, as far as plays,” Smart said. “We’re copying what other people do. Defense is the same way. You watch pressures and you try to copy what other teams do.”
Georgia may be copying from its opponents, but the Bulldogs have definitely found a way to put their own style on how they play. Regardless of the methods, Georgia is playing strong and looks to be getting stronger as the season progresses.
The Bulldogs will face South Carolina in Athens this weekend. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 3:30 pm EST on CBS.
