Kirby Smart is aware of Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz’ personality from interacting with him on the field, and in SEC meetings. The Georgia coach even said Monday that he could take a page from it himself.
“Eli’s got a personality,” Smart said. “He doesn’t seem to stress and worry about things a lot. He takes it as it comes, and enjoys it and I’m trying to do the same myself when it comes to enjoying the moment. He says it all the time: You better enjoy it or why’d you get in it, and that’s what you come to this big league to play, play in these big games like this one.”
An SEC East showdown is at hand on Saturday in Athens, and Smart understands that Missouri is a dangerous team, even if you look at it from last year’s narrow escape by the Bulldogs.
Smart respects Drinkwitz for how he’s built Missouri into a contender, as the Tigers won a key recruiting battle for star wide receiver Luther Burden, who will likely be a factor in how the game is decided.
