Kirby Smart names several key players who will miss spring practice
Georgia coach Kirby Smart met with reporters on Tuesday afternoon as the Bulldogs prepare to begin spring practice.
Smart announced that several injured players will miss spring practice for the Bulldogs. The list includes a few key starters:
- Offensive lineman Drew Bobo
- Defensive lineman Jordan Hall
- Outside linebacker Gabe Harris
- Defensive back Kyron Jones
- Defensive back Carter Luckie
- Linebacker Zayden Walker
Smart said Bobo should be able to “get back to work” in the summer. He also said Hall will miss the spring but has already begun running. Harris remains “out for the duration of the spring” due to turf toe surgery.
Jones is battling an ankle injury, Smart said. Luckie was a member of Georgia’s 2026 high school recruiting class and is still recovering from offseason knee surgery. Smart said Walker “might be able to do some stuff” at the end of spring. He had surgery to repair a torn labrum.
Smart said there are other players who are working their way back from injury and may not participate in all of spring.
Georgia will be hoping to get back to National Championship contention in 2026. The Bulldogs have won the SEC in each of the past 2 seasons but have also had early exits from the College Football Playoff in the 12-team era.
