Georgia trailed LSU, 16-0, at the half on Saturday, and that had many Bulldogs fans wanting freshman Justin Fields to replace Jake Fromm at quarterback.

Coach Kirby Smart didn’t rule out using the freshman when he was interviewed at halftime on CBS.

“If we feel like we can get a spark, we certainly will,” Smart said on the broadcast.

It was a rough first half for the Bulldogs as the offense was blanked and the defense struggled to stop the Tigers.

“We’ve got to tackle better, and we’re not playing real good sound defense,” Smart said.

Georgia entered the matchup 6-0, and the Bulldogs are entering a crucial part of their schedule. Perhaps Fields will come into the game to try to help them get out of their early funk.

Even if Fields doesn’t play, it’s interesting to see that Smart isn’t completely ruling out the idea of using the freshman if Fromm struggles.
