Georgia head coach Kirby Smart took to Twitter to honor Georgia legend Charlehy Trippi, who passed away Wednesday at the age of 100.
Yesterday we said goodbye to one of the greatest to ever represent the red and black. Charley Trippi's legacy helped shape the foundation of what it means to be a Georgia Bulldog and is the definition of a DGD. Our condolences go out to the Trippi family during this time. pic.twitter.com/99ZLEj98Ul

Trippi is known for helping Georgia win its first National Championship in 1942. He and Heisman winner Frank Sinkwich led the Bulldogs to an 11-1 record and a Rose Bowl over UCLA.
The all-around two-way athlete would miss the 1944 season to serve in World War II.
He was later a first overall draft pick in the NFL and played nine seasons for the Chicago Cardinals. He won an NFL championship in 1947 and was a first-team All-Pro in 1948.
Trippi is a member of the College Football (class of 1959) and Pro Football Hall of Fame (class of 1968).
