Report: Kirby Smart plucks Alabama assistant to become UGA’s defensive coordinator
An Alabama assistant will be Kirby Smart’s first defensive coordinator at Georgia.
A source told FOX Sports that Alabama secondary coach Mel Tucker is set to be hired and guide the Bulldogs defense.
Tucker, 44, is in his first season at Tuscaloosa after spending 10 years in the NFL as a defensive coordinator with three teams: the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Cleveland Browns and the Chicago Bears.
